The cost-of-living good news just keeps coming from the Miles State Labor Government.
Last month the Premier announced that a re-elected Miles Labor Government will take on the multinational oil companies to take pressure off household budgets.
The plan is to:
- Establish 12 publicly-owned fuel stations to increase competition in the market
- Ban all petrol stations from raising the price of fuel more than once a day
- Limit daily fuel price increases to 5 cents per litre
- Require petrol stations to release price changes a day in advance
- Use state planning powers and government land for independent and smaller retailers to increase competition
That great news comes on top of the cost-saving measures already introduced by your State Government.
50-cent fares have been in place for a month and proved to be a massive hit with commuters. If you’ve travelled to work five days per week from Caboolture to Central Station over the past month, you will have already saved $218!
Add in $1300 off your electricity, 20% off your rego and $200 towards kids’ sport, and the result is considerable savings to the household bottom line.
