The art of songwriting is a fascinating blend of poetry and melody, weaving stories that resonate deeply within us. For those eager to delve into this craft, the Songwriters Roundtable at Caboolture Library offers a compelling opportunity to explore the world of singer-songwriters.
More than just a workshop on songwriting techniques, this event promises a rich exploration of creative tools, interactive sessions, and writing exercises aimed at helping participants understand and develop their voice and identity as songwriters. With a focus on storytelling through description and observation, attendees will have the chance to delve into song structure, metaphor, point of view, and rhyme, learning how to craft lyrics with impact.
Led by songwriter Mira Chorik, whose live performances are known for their emotional intimacy and audience connection, the Songwriters Roundtable caters to both newcomers and seasoned musicians looking to reignite their creativity.
Mira’s work has been featured in various residencies and performances, including the Caboolture Hub Studio residency, Old Lock Up residency, Project 24 Residency, Anywhere Festival, Moreton Bay Food and Wine Festival, Maleny Lane, Moreton Bay Park Jam, and Woodford Folk Festival.
Host of the monthly Songwriters Roundtable, a community of Sunshine Coast songwriters who support each other in refining their craft, Mira encourages songwriters of all genres, ages, and skill levels, from beginners to seasoned musicians, to attend the event.
“We focus not on performance or perfection but on helping each other improve our songs, learning together, and potentially forming collaborations for future projects,” Mira said.
This free event is a chance to improve your lyric writing and immerse yourself in Caboolture’s vibrant music scene.
