Do you and your family love visiting friendly farm animals and learning how we can work with nature to create a better world for all?
On the outskirts of Caboolture is Teembin Pines Farm – a place where you can take a big breath of fresh air and experience serenity and connection with nature. Here, you can meet lots of farm animals and learn of the work being done to rehabilitate this property in a quest for sustainability.
Property owner Jordan Hunt said the dream was to make Teembin Pines into a true sanctuary for rescued farm animals, native flora and fauna and people alike.
“We came here in 2020 to land that was nothing but weeds and rat’s tail grass from severe overgrazing by horses,” Jordan said.
“It’s an ongoing process – we keep working to transform the landscape, plant by plant, to restore the natural habitat as well as have the beautiful green pasture you see today.
“We want to share our vision with others and educate them on how we are restoring and rejuvenating the land so they can be part of our journey.”
Animal Interactions
Visitors to the farm can book a time to explore this unique destination where nature and agriculture come together. Jordan and his team provide a behind-the-scenes experience of running a hobby farm, while restoring the natural ecosystems step-by-step. You will have the chance to interact with a variety of domestic animals, most of them rescued, including highland cows, goats, pigs and an array of poultry, including chickens, geese, turkeys, ducks and even an ostrich.
Native fauna, including wallabies, possums, reptiles and a multitude of birdlife, are also increasing in numbers as biodiversity is enhanced by the planting of native vegetation.
For anyone who wants to connect with the great outdoors and for NDIS clients seeking a new experience, Teembin Pines Farm is an ideal place to learn about caring for animals and the environment while having fun.
