Getting to university shouldn’t mean hours on the train or studying at the kitchen table while the family bustles around you. That’s the idea behind the brand‑new Strathpine University Study Hub, part of the Australian Government’s Suburban University Study Hubs (SUSH) program aimed at removing location and technology barriers for outer‑metro students.
And this one at Strathpine is just one of 15 new hubs opening in 2025 across 17 outer metro locations for students aged 16 and above.
What You’ll Find Inside

Registered university, TAFE and recognised RTO students (from any Australian institution) can walk in and enjoy:
- Quiet and collaborative study zones – individual desks, group tables and bookable meeting rooms with video‑conferencing screens.
- High‑speed internet, PCs and large monitors – perfect for data‑heavy assignments or lectures on Zoom.
- Academic skills support, tutoring and mentoring – onsite staff and volunteer mentors are ready to troubleshoot referencing, time‑management and more.
- Wellbeing perks – free tea & coffee, comfy lounges and a safe, welcoming vibe until late.
Whether you need a spot to cram for finals, record a presentation or meet your project team, the Hub brings big‑campus facilities to Gympie Road.
Why Strathpine?
Moreton Bay’s tertiary participation rate sits well below the Brisbane average. The Hub plans to support around 80 local students in its first year, growing to 200 within two years. By saving travel costs and offering wrap‑around support, it helps students stay enrolled, finish their degrees and feed their skills back into the north‑Brisbane workforce.
