Monster trucks, fireworks and showbags will take over the Caboolture Showgrounds as the much-loved community event returns this winter.
Running from Friday, 5 June to Sunday, 7 June, the show continues its proud tradition of celebrating the region’s agricultural roots while delivering fun for the whole family. Whether you’re a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, this annual celebration, the Caboolture Show is fun for everyone.
History of the Caboolture Show
The Caboolture Show has a rich history that stretches over 100 years. The show society was established on 1 May 1914 and held its first event that year in a bushland clearing. Despite humble beginnings, the show was deemed a success and quickly became a staple of the community.
The event ran annually until 1941, when World War II caused a temporary halt. The showgrounds were repurposed for military use during the war years, but the Caboolture Show made a triumphant return in 1956. By 1977, the show celebrated its Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years since its inception with grand festivities.
Throughout the decades, various attractions and facilities were added to the showgrounds, including the indoor arena in 1989 and multiple pavilions named after dedicated community members. The rodeo grounds were built in 1977 by the Caboolture Apex Club and later acquired by the show society.
This rich combination of history and community effort has shaped the Caboolture Show into the much-loved event it is today.

A huge line-up of family entertainment is planned, including El Jay’s Freestyle Bike Show, Wall of Fire, D’Aguilar Wildlife, the Burkley Super Tank Fishing Show, the Professor Wallace Puppet Show and much more.
The night program promises high-energy thrills with Monster Trucks, the Air Marshal Wheelstanding Jeep and the incredible Fireworks Fire and Light Spectacular.
Local mum of two teens, Sarah, said the Caboolture Show was a favourite in her household.
“We go every year, and it’s always such a highlight for the kids and me,” she said. “From the rides to the food and all the fun activities, it’s a great way to spend time together as a family. I love that we have events like this on our doorstep – it really makes me feel lucky to live here!”

Owner of KC’s Fireworks Displays Australia and Monster Truck Promotions Australia, Clive Featherby, said Outback Thunda would celebrate a major milestone at this year’s show.
“Outback Thunda, which is Australia’s number one monster truck (show), is celebrating its 25th anniversary at Caboolture Show this year,” Clive said.
After performing across America, Canada, China and the Middle East, Clive said returning to Caboolture was always something the team looked forward to.
“Caboolture has always been like a second home to us,” he said. “We’ve always had a strong connection with the showgrounds and the team there.”
Clive said audiences were in for a real treat, with a world-class fireworks and multimedia spectacular planned for both Friday and Saturday nights.
“It’s not even just a fireworks show anymore, it’s a full multimedia experience,” he said. “Both the monster trucks and fireworks are absolutely world-class.”
Creative Competitions
There are a variety of competitions that invite participation from all age groups, fostering a sense of community and friendly rivalry. Kids will love events like the Plastic Building Blocks Competition, where their creative skills can shine. The Scarecrow Competition is another family favourite, allowing kids and adults to get crafty and imaginative.
