Caboolture is set to welcome a new community-based women’s health hub, following an investment of $20.4 million from the Queensland Government for two facilities in the state.

Micah Projects has been chosen to deliver services at the Caboolture Hub, which is expected to open later this year.

The hub will offer tailored, walk-in healthcare services for women and girls, aiming to make access to essential health services more convenient and remove barriers associated with traditional appointment systems. The initiative is part of the Women and Girls Health Strategy 2032.

Services and Support for Women and Girls

The facility will feature a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, including nurses and allied health professionals, offering services such as women’s and family health, sexual and reproductive health, chronic disease prevention, and support for those affected by intimate partner violence.

Micah Projects, a not-for-profit organisation, also runs the Young Mothers for Young Women program, which assists young mothers who are pregnant or caring for children under six.

Micah Projects Chief Executive Officer Karyn Walsh expressed enthusiasm about the hub, stating, “Our work in Caboolture already tells us there is a need for the Women’s Hub to complement existing services in the community. We look forward to expanding our partnerships and services to support women’s health and wellbeing, especially the most vulnerable.”
