This family-friendly celebration promises an unforgettable experience with traditional music, dance and mouth-watering cuisine offering a glimpse into the artistic heritage of Eastern cultures. One of the highlights is the mesmerising dragon dancing, a symbol of prosperity and good fortune.

The Moreton Bay Lunar New Year event first started in the Caboolture Town Square back in 2017 and each year the event has grown in popularity.

“In 2025, we are looking to once again deliver a spectacular celebration that creates lasting memories for the community,” a spokesperson for Moreton Bay Region & Industry Tourism said. “Bring your family and friends to this amazing celebration and create lasting memories at the City of Moreton Bay Lunar New Year!”

The Year of the Wood Snake: Tradition and Transformation

In the Chinese zodiac, the snake occupies the sixth position. The Lunar New Year 2025 brings with it the arrival of the Wood Snake, a rare and significant combination that occurs once every 60 years. This unique pairing of the snake, known for its wisdom and transformative energy, with the wood element, symbolises growth, stability and creativity. As this celestial cycle unfolds, it promises to be a year filled with introspection, renewal and positive transformations.

What better way to kick things off than celebrating right here in Caboolture?!

In addition to eye-catching performances and culinary delights, don’t miss your chance to take part in fun and engaging workshops and activities suitable for all ages.

So, what makes this event special for the community?

“The Moreton Bay Lunar New Year event serves as a vibrant showcase of Eastern traditions, featuring authentic music, spectacular dance performances and cultural displays all in the one place,” the MBRIT spokesperson said. “By immersing attendees in these rich cultural experiences, it fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of Asian heritage within the City of Moreton Bay.”
