Celebrating the classic LandCruiser and the people who own them is at the heart of this local, well-known car show.
The Classic Landcruiser Expo and Car Show (CLECS) is returning to Caboolture Showgrounds on Saturday, 17 October, with a lot more on offer this year.
CLECS Director, Paul Read, said there are a few new additions to this year’s event.
“Probably the biggest change is that we’ve opened the car show up to pre-1989 70 Series LandCruisers this year,” Paul said.
“We’re also bringing in a pre-1989 Hilux as a special guest display vehicle, which we’re pretty excited about.
“CLECS…is really a celebration of classic Toyota LandCruisers and the people who own them. We’ve got everything from beautifully restored original vehicles through to some pretty serious modified builds, covering the 40, 50, 60 and now the 70 Series.”
Family Entertainment and Community Attractions
There will also be a wider variety of food vendors from local businesses, new attractions and family entertainment, including raffles and giveaways throughout the day.
“This year we’ve also added live music, with Brisbane-based classic rock band Wolfpack playing after the main show,” Paul said. “They’ll be playing plenty of the classic 70s, 80s and 90s stuff.
“There are a few other things we’re keeping under wraps for now, but hopefully they’ll be some nice surprises for people who have been to CLECS before.”
Attendees do not have to be a LandCruiser owner to head down to the expo, as Paul said it has something for everyone.
“It’s not just about walking around looking at cars,” he said. “We’ve got a good mix of trade stalls, automotive businesses, food vendors and sponsors, along with plenty happening for families and kids.
“You definitely don’t have to be a LandCruiser expert to come along and enjoy the day.”
The expo also provides an opportunity for members of the community to come together.
“…People genuinely enjoy getting together,” Paul said. “This year we’ve got participants, vendors and visitors coming from all over Australia, as well as international visitors from Japan, New Zealand, the United States and South America.”
