Go your own way with a tribute show like no other.
Rumours – The Australian Fleetwood Mac Experience will have you remembering the music of the 70s and 80s as a line-up of talented musicians bring their greatest hits to life on stage at Sports Central Caboolture’s free event this month.
Formed on the Gold Coast in 1995, the band consists of five musicians who have pooled their talents and energies to achieve a combination that is hard to equal. The line-up includes Jacqueline Lovaszi as Stevie Nicks, Debbie Hinton as Christine McVie, Rick Hay as Lindsey Buckingham, Adrian McCarlie as John McVie and Paul McCarlie as Mick Fleetwood.
Debbie, who helped create the tribute show, said she looked forward to each and every show.
“In all the years that I have been a part of this wonderful concept show, I have never tired of performing the wonderful classic songs of Fleetwood Mac and I have always greatly admired the piano talents of my counterpart, Christine McVie,” she said.
Meet the Musicians Behind the Magic
Stepping into the role of Stevie Nicks is a dream come true for Jacqueline ‘Jakkii’ Lovaszi.
“Having grown up listening to Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, being able to perform and recreate the magic of their music with each show and watch everyone’s joy is one of the greatest blessings,” she said. “This show is one of the best experiences I’ve had in my career, being able to perform Fleetwood Mac’s timeless music and story with an amazingly talented group of musicians.”
Adrian was invited to play bass about five years ago by his brother Paul who was already playing the drums for the show.
“I had always respected the master bass work of John McVie (the Mac in Fleetwood Mac), so enjoyed learning all his signature bass grooves,” Adrian said. “From the moment I joined the band, Paul and I locked in together as a solid Mick Fleetwood and John McVie rhythm engine because as brothers we had already developed as a tight rhythm section from playing together in several bands for many years prior.
“We always try to emulate the familiar moves that make Fleetwood Mac so recognisable. It is an absolute pleasure playing in this band.”
As the other half of the duo who helped create the show, Rick has well and truly settled into his role.
“I have played guitar for many bands, but it was the formation of our Rumours – The Fleetwood Mac Experience show that gave me longevity while playing music that I really enjoyed,” he said. “We stage the show as the original ‘Mac’ did with lots of great guitar work which definitely suits me.”
Sam O’Donoghue, the general manager for CSC Group, which operates Sports Central Caboolture, said they always worked hard to provide patrons with a diverse range of entertainment offerings and this show was no exception.
“We pride ourselves on the quality of acts and shows we deliver free of charge to our members and their guests,” Sam said. “Members and guests can make a night of it and enjoy a pre-show dinner in the upstairs restaurant or enjoy food from our Grounds Cafe. Plus, our courtesy bus will be running on the night.”
