Dubbed ‘Queensland’s biggest outdoor lifestyle event’, the Moreton Bay Expo is set to return to Redcliffe this month, so local adventure enthusiasts won’t want to miss it.
Held from Friday, 13 February, to Sunday, 15 February, the Redcliffe Showgrounds will come alive with the latest high-spec caravans, camper trailers, 4×4 vehicles and innovative camping gadgets. Industry professionals will be on hand throughout the weekend to answer questions and guide visitors towards equipment that suits their lifestyle and budget.
The expo will feature Shimano Fishing Presentations with experts Dave ‘Mossy’ Moss and Robbie Wells, as well as a special culinary showcase by First Nations Executive Chef Christopher Jordan from Three Little Birds.
Founded by Christopher, Three Little Birds highlights a unique approach to sourcing native ingredients for outdoor cooking. Drawing on ancient customs, traditional bush food knowledge, and Indigenous cooking techniques, Christopher said he creates delicious meals that help individuals reconnect with culture and Country.
Food, Wildlife and Family-Friendly Experiences
“I’m very excited to be sharing our Indigenous food cooked over coals,” he said. “It’s my first time at the event, I’m very excited.
“I’ll be cooking fish with sea vegetables on gidgee coals and some native mocktails, maybe a burnt pineapple and saltbush margarita.
“The session will also be an intro into native food and how to cook with them at home, a little taste, smell and learn.”
Hands on Wildlife will also offer close-by encounters with snakes, birds and reptiles, and there will be more family-friendly entertainment over the weekend.
Bob Carroll, Managing Director at Australian Events, said the Moreton Bay Expo continues to grow each year.
“This is the ultimate event for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike,” he said. “We’re excited to bring the community together to experience the best in adventure, all in one convenient location.”
