It’s not often you hear a story about llamas visiting the library, but this is one tale that is true!

When you drop into the Caboolture Library on 15 November, not only can you grab one of your favourite books to read, but you’ll have the chance to interact with some friendly visitors from Ottaba Llamas.

Visitors to the library will get to meet a couple of llamas, grab a photo and a pat. Plus, if you have any questions about these unique animals, this will be the perfect opportunity to ask away.

“Once you have met one llama, your life changes,” Marko Mircic from Ottoba Llamas said. “They are a very unique animal, you just have to come and meet them to understand.”

Marko’s journey with llamas started about 15 years ago with just two, and now it’s grown to a group of 40.

“We just fell in love with them,” Marko said. “What’s not to love?! They have easygoing attitudes, everyone has a different personality, and they are easy to look after.”

A New Chapter in Library Learning

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the libraries were opening up new ways for learning to go beyond the pages of a book.

“Libraries today are about more than books, they’re places where the community can engage and learn in new and exciting ways,” he said.

“We’re inviting llamas into our libraries to spark curiosity and fun for the whole family. You can snap a selfie, chat with our friendly handlers and experience how your local library can turn learning into a unique and exciting adventure.”
