Spice up your night with lively fiesta vibes as the Woodford Golf Club comes alive with mouth-watering Mexican eats and the thrill of a cent auction packed with fabulous prizes!
Proceeds from this special event on Friday, 18 July, will go to the Woodford SES, Woodford Community House and local wildlife carers.
Sarah, a wildlife carer, is one of the faces behind the scenes working to bring the night together.
Sarah said she was not only passionate about looking after animals that found their way into her life (think tiny possums that need constant care), but also the chance to make a difference where she could.
“It’s a fundraising event but more than that it’s about bringing the community together and educating them about the groups we’re raising money for and what they do in the community,” Sarah said. “It’s also a great opportunity to enjoy some delicious Mexican food and score some amazing prizes as well.”
Mexican Fare, Drinks & Auction Highlights
Jenni J is the catering manager/head cook at Woodford Golf Club and is well-known in the community for the tasty morsels she serves up. This event will be no exception.
“We don’t have anywhere in Woodford that has Mexican food, so for one night we’re bringing out the yummy authentic Mexican food,” Jenni said.
“We’ll have beef or chicken nachos, tacos, burritos, served with guacamole, sour cream and refried beans – everything that is Mexican. No one will go hungry that’s for sure!
“We’ll also have jugs of margaritas and Coronas with lemon or lime, plus all the other normal drinks on offer.”
Excitement is also building ahead of the cent auction, with multiple prizes on offer. For those who don’t know much about cent auctions, participants can purchase tickets and use them to bid on the prizes they want to win.
So, grab your amigos and head along for a night that promises to be muy divertido (very fun)!
