Senior students across the Moreton Bay North region are accessing vocational training opportunities through the Moreton Bay North Training Alliance (MBNTA), a partnership between five local state schools.

Led by Caboolture State High School, the MBNTA includes Burpengary State Secondary College, Morayfield State High School, Tullawong State High School and Lee Street State Special School. The collaboration was established to provide students with clearer pathways into employment and further training in high-demand industries.

The program operates across purpose-built training facilities located at the five school sites. Specialist hubs focus on automotive, autonomous technologies, early childhood, electrotechnology, health, justice, plumbing and rural operations. Each hub is equipped with industry-standard tools and technology, giving students the opportunity to learn in environments designed to reflect modern workplaces.

How the MBNTA Program Prepares Job-Ready Students

Students enrolled in the program attend their allocated training centre one day per week, while continuing their senior studies at their base school. A key feature of the program is the requirement to complete 80 hours of structured workplace training, providing meaningful exposure to real industry settings and helping students build practical experience alongside their qualifications.

Qualifications gained through the MBNTA contribute towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), allowing students to combine vocational learning with their senior schooling requirements.

Since it began, the MBNTA has expanded to support students from across Moreton Bay and northern Brisbane. Schools involved say graduates are increasingly recognised by local employers as job-ready, skilled and career-focused.
