Community sporting facilities across Moreton Bay will benefit from a new partnership between the City of Moreton Bay and Caboolture Sports Club (CSC), with millions of dollars allocated for infrastructure projects over five years.

CSC CEO Craig Thomas said he was looking forward to the positive impact the upgrades will bring.

“CSC is excited to be partnering again with Council to deliver upgrades to sporting facilities that will greatly benefit our community,” Craig said.

“We are committed to giving back to our community and see growing and improving local sports infrastructure, which we manage, as a great way of doing just that.

“We thank Council for its continued support of our organisation’s efforts to progress sport locally. It will be exciting to see what we can collectively achieve over the next five years.”

Key Projects and Community Benefits

Council will contribute $2.5 million, with CSC adding at least $1.8 million over the next five years. Early projects being considered for the first phase include a clubhouse upgrade at Dances Road Sports Ground; additional changerooms at Grant Road Sports and Community Complex; field and carpark lighting at Petersen Road Sports Ground; and additional changerooms and amenities at Wamuran Sports Complex.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the partnership would help ensure City of Moreton Bay had some of the best community sporting facilities in Queensland.

“This is a game-changing collaboration that will help us attract major sporting events and improve the game-day experience for our grassroots players,” Mayor Flannery said.

“Participants, spectators and the wider community will benefit greatly from this new partnership.”
