Relive the hits of Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel when Barnes Storm brings its high-energy show to Narangba Valley Tavern this month.

Led by vocalist Scott Bedford, the band delivers a performance featuring hits spanning Barnes’ solo career and Cold Chisel’s extensive catalogue.

For Scott, the journey began as a teenager when Cold Chisel announced their split, sparking a love of the band’s music and admiration for Barnes’ unmistakable voice.

“I just fell in love with the music and was just blown away by this guy that could sing like that and still talk afterwards,” he said.

Authentic Vocal Performance and Classic Rock Setlists

After years performing in cover bands, Scott was encouraged by a fellow musician in 2017 to develop a dedicated show celebrating the music.

Since then, Barnes Storm has overcome line-up changes and the challenges of COVID-19 to build what Scott describes as a “superb top-notch group of musos”.

Rather than simply imitating Barnes’ appearance, Scott said he focuses on capturing his sound, movements and expressions to create an authentic concert experience.

Having met Jimmy Barnes several times, Scott said he felt fortunate to help keep the music alive for audiences across generations.

The show features 28 songs across two one-hour sets, alternating between Cold Chisel classics and Barnes’ solo hits. While choosing a favourite song is difficult, Scott said Working Class Man held a special place in his heart because of its connection with everyday Australians.

“It’s a song that everyone just relates to,” he said. “You work hard all day and then just want to relax at the end.”
