Moreton Bay is bursting with activities these September school holidays, with plenty on offer to keep kids of all ages busy. Whether they want to set sail at Woody Point, meet native wildlife, get creative with craft or dive into some hands-on science, there are plenty of ways to keep the kids entertained.  

Fun Soccer for Kids Clontarf 

Children aged two to four can enjoy free, play-based soccer sessions focused on fun, teamwork and developing basic skills. No experience is needed. Adult supervision is required. Free.

Underwater Investigators Redcliffe 

Children aged eight to 11 can dive into hands-on science experiments exploring oceans, waterways and sustainability. Participants will investigate water-cleaning techniques, learn about oil spills and discover practical ways to help protect the environment. Free. Bookings required.

Kids Learn to Sail Woody Point 

Introduce the kids to sailing with Humpybong Yacht Club’s Tackers program. Designed for children aged seven to 12, the four-day course teaches sailing through fun, games-based activities, with all boats and equipment provided. Three levels are available: Tackers 1 – Having Fun, Tackers 2 – Tricks & Techniques and Tackers 3 – Sailing Fast. Cost is $330.

Biodiversity in Wildlife Griffin 

Children and families can meet native Australian wildlife during this free Biodiversity Month event at Osprey House. Hosted by D’Aguilar Wildlife, the experience features native mammals, reptiles and birds, with opportunities to learn about local wildlife and the importance of protecting Moreton Bay’s natural environment. Wildlife Unleashed at Caboolture Historical Village 

Get up close to some of Australia’s most fascinating native animals when Wildlife Unleashed visits Caboolture Historical Village. Meet snakes, lizards, birds, crocodiles and possums while learning about their habitats and behaviours during an interactive educational show. Tickets include village entry, the wildlife presentation, a train ride, a sausage sizzle and a bottle of water. Personal animal photos will also be available for an additional cost.
