Hold on tight, cowboys! Pro bull riders will be heading to Moreton Bay again this winter.
The Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Monster Energy Series will return to Caboolture, with the PBR Monster Energy Tour Caboolture Invitational taking place at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre (QSEC Arena) on 30 August.
PBR Managing Director Glen Young said the reason behind heading back to this venue was because PBR had such a strong fan base in the area.
“Caboolture has been a cornerstone of our PBR circuit for years, with its electric atmosphere and the unwavering support from the local community,” he said.
“It’s where the toughest riders go head-to-head in a brutal test of courage, grit and raw power.
“The national tour offers world points that enables the athletes to compete on home soil as well as in the world tour if they qualify.”
Rising Stars, Fierce Bulls and Family Fun
According to Glen, bull riding has become increasingly popular across Australia, and over 2,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event.
“The continuous improvement in the quality of bulls and the calibre of the riders has led to sold-out venues across Australia in both regional and metropolitan areas,” he said.
“Bull riding is evolving and anyone brave enough and bold enough can take part. The PBR is always welcoming to new bull riders and searching for more talent to add to our pool of athletes.
“At the event, Australia’s top 15-20 riders are expected to attend and we will also see the young guns of the PBR Australia’s Can-Am Junior Academy with the Pee Wee (ages 7-9 years), Junior Mini Bull, Senior Mini Bull and Rising Stars divisions all in action before Australia’s toughest bull riders enter the arena and buckle up for the toughest eight seconds in sport.
“This year includes a strong Queensland contingent of competitors.”
