Keen to immortalise your treasured possession? A resin art workshop will be held at Sports Central Caboolture on Saturday, 20 June.
The structured class, hosted by Resin Ratz, is for those interested in creating personalised timber pieces using epoxy resin. Sessions run for two hours and are open to both beginners and those with prior experience.
Martin Burch from Resin Ratz said the class wasn’t “just a resin pour”.
“It’s a storytelling session where you can preserve your most precious memories in a ‘river of glass’,” Martin said.
Creative Process and Workshop Details
The main workshop centres on a rectangular timber board with a carved channel designed to hold resin and embedded objects. Participants are invited to bring small items such as shells, stones, jewellery, photographs or dried flowers to incorporate into their design.
“The beauty of the 12mm depth is that it allows for 3D objects to be fully submerged,” Martin said.
During the class, instructors will guide attendees through preparation techniques, including sealing the timber, arranging items for visual composition and completing the final resin pour.
The workshop starting price begins at $120, with all materials included. Due to curing requirements, completed pieces must remain on-site overnight and be collected the following day. Resin materials and accessories are also available for purchase.
“Whether you’re just starting your artistic journey or you’ve been creating for years, this workshop is designed to ignite your imagination and elevate your skills,” Martin said.
