Like to treat the kids to some different activities over the looooong summer break – but the budget is a bit tight?
Have no fear! There are many no-cost and low-cost opportunities for kids to have fun through December and January. Take advantage of the various programs and activities provided by City of Moreton Bay to keep your children happily engaged these holidays.
For only $5 per person (online), Morayfield Sport and Events Centre offers two very different experiences.
The Larrikin Puppets Family Fun Day on Tuesday, 20 January takes kids (and grown-ups) on a rollicking adventure full of songs, silliness and interactive fun. Don’t miss your chance to see this Jim Henson Company-trained puppet show.
Wild Encounters with D’Aguilar Wildlife are back with creatures that slither, crawl, fly, glide, hop or sleep in the School Holiday Wildlife Show on Wednesday, 21 January. Learn more about our native wildlife then stay for photos and to pat some animals.

Free Creative Activities at Caboolture Regional Art Gallery
Caboolture Regional Art Gallery offers many free activities to keep your kids off screens and engaged in hands-on creativity that is FUN. Here are some examples:
- Waterbugs and Waterways on Wednesday, 17 December. Kids aged six and over can uncover the secret world of aquatic macroinvertebrates and discover how these tiny creatures not only help our waterways but also tell us if their habitat is healthy or not. Also, create your own art water bug to take home. Bookings essential.
- Festive food printmaking – self-paced from 16-20 December. Get crafty with your favourite festive fruit, veggies, and holiday meals – turn them into stamps and make joyful wrapping paper and gift cards. All ages.
- Pixel printed food lab – self-paced from 2-29 January. Experience a retro-futuristic programming company where you tell the Food-O-Matic what to print – invent new foods, hybrid meals, and discover delicious glitches. All ages.
