Give the family a school holiday treat at no cost at a special Family Fun Day this month, jam-packed with entertainment to put big smiles on everyone’s faces.

The event, to be held at the Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, 18 December, will feature a free sausage sizzle, live music and children’s activities.

Managing Director of Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre, Malcolm Thomson, said this year’s Family Fun Day would be bigger and better than ever.

“Family Fun Day is about bringing a little joy and hope to people who may be doing it tough through the cost-of-living and housing crises,” Malcolm said.

“We have some exciting activities like Little Rex’s Ride On Cars for littlies and the huge inflatable obstacle course that kids love to try.”

Parents and carers will be able to watch kids drive their own little ride on cars around a track (parents can remote control the cars if they are not confident of their child’s ability) or encourage the kids to burn some energy by challenging themselves to complete the inflatable obstacle course. Other free activities for children include face painting, lawn games such as ring toss, and a variety of craft tables. Santa is also set to make a special appearance.

Community Support and Activities

Malcolm said the event was also an ideal time to discover some of the many services the Neighbourhood Centre provides, as well as meet other organisations that would be there to help with any problems members of the community may be facing.

“The Fun Day also brings many community service organisations together in one spot,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity for community members to find out more about what support and assistance may be available.”

Donations from local businesses and individuals have helped provide prizes for a community raffle, with tickets costing $1 each.
