Step back in time and celebrate the festive season with A Very Victorian Christmas High Tea at the Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology.

On Saturday, 6 December, guests can choose from two sittings in the Abbey Hall in Caboolture to enjoy a traditional high tea accompanied by live carol performances. The menu will feature a spread of sandwiches, savoury bites, freshly baked scones and sweet Victorian tarts and shortbreads, all served on a three-tier platter.

Abbey Museum Marketing Manager Kellee Neville said the event was designed to offer something special during the busy festive period.

“Guests will enjoy a traditional high tea and live entertainment evoking the grace and charm of a 19th-century Christmas,” Kellee said. “It’s an experience for friends, families and history lovers alike, a delightful way to welcome the holidays with heritage and style.”

Event Details and Museum Experience

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early for a stroll through the museum and to take a photo beside the Christmas tree. Tickets to the event include a guided tour of the Abbey Church’s medieval and Victorian stained glass.

Victorian-era costumes are welcome for those who wish to dress up in period style.

For those who can’t attend the high tea, the Abbey Museum will be open through December, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the festive displays and museum treasures.
